Who we are
Plento (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a food insight app that helps you understand what you eat — without shame or judgement. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address, used to sign in and send you transactional emails (e.g. password reset).
- Meal photos: photos you upload to log a meal. These are sent to our AI model for analysis and stored securely in your account.
- Meal data: the name, type, nutritional estimates, and timestamp of each logged meal.
- Goal preference: the food goal you select during onboarding (e.g. “awareness”, “performance”).
- Push notification subscription: if you opt in to reminders, we store your browser push subscription token.
- Usage data: number of scans per day, used only to enforce daily limits.
How we use your data
- To provide the core service: AI meal analysis, history, and trends.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Mailtrap.
- To send optional daily meal reminders if you have enabled push notifications.
- To enforce per-day scan limits and improve reliability.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your meal photos or food data for advertising.
Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication and database (EU/US region). Privacy policy.
- Anthropic Claude — AI model used to analyse meal photos. Images are processed transiently and not stored by Anthropic for training without consent. Privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and serverless infrastructure. Privacy policy.
- Sentry — error monitoring (crash reports only, no personal data intentionally sent). Privacy policy.
Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hi@tryplento.app. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email hi@tryplento.app. The in-app “Export my data” feature on the Profile page lets you download your meal history as a CSV at any time.
Children
Plento is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
